US Central Command (CENTCOM) has been actively countering threats from Iranian-supplied weapons and ISIS activities in the Middle East. Over the past week, CENTCOM forces successfully neutralized 20 one-way attack drones and land-attack cruise missiles launched by Houthi rebels and Iranian-aligned militias. These weapons posed a direct threat to US forces, allies, and civilians in the region.
In a separate operation, CENTCOM conducted airstrikes on October 11th against multiple ISIS camps in Syria. These strikes resulted in the deaths of at least 35 ISIS operatives, including several key leaders. The objective was to disrupt ISIS’s ability to plan and carry out attacks against the US, its allies, and innocent civilians.

To further enhance regional security, a Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery and US troops were deployed to Israel. This deployment, authorized by the President and the Secretary of Defense, aims to strengthen Israel’s air defenses following recent Iranian missile attacks. The THAAD battery is now integrated into the regional air defense network.
CENTCOM forces also targeted Houthi military capabilities in the region. This included the destruction of a Houthi surface-to-air missile launcher and its associated radar, which posed a threat to US and coalition aircraft. Additionally, strikes were conducted against Houthi drone control stations used to direct attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

On October 16th, multiple airstrikes were carried out on Houthi weapons storage facilities in Yemen. These facilities housed advanced conventional weapons, including missiles and munitions, used to target both military and civilian vessels in the region. The operation involved US Air Force and Navy assets, including B-2 Spirit stealth bombers.
Throughout these operations, US and coalition forces demonstrated their vigilance and defensive capabilities. They successfully intercepted rockets fired by Iranian-aligned militias, ensuring the safety of US service members. These ongoing efforts underscore the commitment of US forces to protect national interests, support allies and partners, and maintain stability in the Middle East.
