TAMPA, Fla. – Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield is impressed with the Baltimore Ravens defense, talent-wise, but also just how tough they are.

“They’re (Ravens) physical, they want to be the bully,  but they have guys that set the tone for them on all three levels,” Mayfield said on Thursday after practice. 

Two 4-2 teams, the Bucs and the Ravens will go at it on Monday night Football at Raymond James Stadium and Mayfield is well aware that Baltimore has one the top rushing defenses in the NFL.

“I mean, they’ kind of have tone setters on all three levels,” Mayfield said. “Yeah we’re playing the Ravens  and they’re a physical team, but it still comes down to us executing, running our things and doing  it at a very high level.”

Baltimore has won 4 games in a row while the Bucs are coming off a 51 point performance in a win over the Saints. Tampa Bay is averaging 29.7 points per game land their running attack is actually higher ranked than their passing game. The Ravens feature a potent offense as well led by quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry.

Monday Night’s game will give fans in the state of Florida and specifically Tampa Bay attending the game, a chance to unwind and enjoy some football. a nice distraction from all they’ve gone through with these past two Hurricanes.

“I’m hoping we have a great crowd, ” Mayfield said. “It’s a prime-time game, obviously a great opponent, a huge matchup for us. We’re just hoping to continue to bring hope in a time of post-disaster where people are going through a lot.”

While Tropicana Field in St. Pete where the Tampa Bay Rays play suffered immeasurable damage, Raymond James Stadium saw some flooding inside the stadium but nothing serious and will be in great shape for the game Monday Night.
