Liam Payne, a member of the globally renowned boyband One Direction, has tragically passed away at the age of 31. According to Buenos Aires police, Payne died after a fall from the third floor of a hotel in the city’s Palermo neighborhood.
Payne rose to fame as one of the five members of One Direction, formed on the UK’s “The X Factor” in 2010. The group, which also included Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan, achieved massive international success before going on hiatus in 2015.
Following the band’s break, Payne embarked on a successful solo career, releasing his debut album “LP1” in 2019 and his latest LP “Teardrops” earlier this year.
Payne leaves behind a son, born in 2017, from his previous relationship with singer Cheryl Cole.
