Hillsborough County Opens Second Comfort Station At Skyway Sports Complex

TAMPA, Fla – Hillsborough County continues its efforts to support residents impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton with the opening of a second comfort station. This new comfort station is located at the Skyway Sports Complex & Park (3901 George Rd., Tampa, FL 33634) and is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until further notice.

This comfort station provides essential services to residents, including showers, restrooms, and laundry facilities with washers and dryers. Hot food or boxed meals will also be available during lunch and dinner.

In addition to the comfort stations, Hillsborough County and the National Guard are operating points of distribution (PODs) throughout the county, offering essential supplies to those in need. No identification is required to access services at either the comfort stations or the PODs.

Reporting Unmet Needs

Residents who have unmet needs as a result of the hurricanes are encouraged to report them online at HCFL.gov/DamageAssessment or by calling (833) HC-STORM or (833) 427-8676. This information will be directed to the appropriate County department for a response within 72 hours.

FEMA Assistance

Residents impacted by Hurricane Milton can apply for federal aid through FEMA. Those with unmet needs for necessities like food, shelter, and clothing may be eligible to receive $750 in Serious Needs Assistance without an inspection. FEMA assistance is also available to those displaced from their homes due to storm damage.
