The financial impact of Hurricane Helene continues to mount, with estimated insured losses in Florida nearing $1.2 billion as of Friday.
According to the state Office of Insurance Regulation, over 119,000 claims have been filed, totaling an estimated $1,197,629,809 in losses. This represents a steady increase since the storm made landfall on September 26th in Taylor County.

The majority of claims are related to residential property (51,529) and private passenger vehicles (57,163). Other claims involve commercial property and vehicles.
While over 14,900 claims have been closed with payments to policyholders, over 12,000 have been closed without payments.

These figures highlight the significant impact of Hurricane Helene, which caused widespread damage across North Florida and Gulf Coast communities. As assessments continue, the total insured losses are expected to rise further.
