The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring an area of low pressure in the eastern tropical Atlantic, a few hundred miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands.
The system is not expected to develop over the next few days due to unfavorable environmental conditions.
However, according to the NHC, as it moves westward across the Atlantic, conditions could become more conducive for gradual development by the middle or end of the week.
