Town ‘N Country, FL – In a race against time, Hillsborough County crews have successfully cleared all storm debris left by Hurricane Helene from the Tampa Shores neighborhood in Town ‘N Country. This achievement comes just as Hurricane Milton threatens to bring further impacts to the region.
Crews have also made significant progress in removing debris from other neighborhoods affected by flooding caused by Helene’s record-breaking storm surge.
The scale of the cleanup has been immense. In just 11 days, crews have collected over 18,000 cubic yards of debris from curbsides – the equivalent of over 9,000 pickup truckloads. Additionally, residents have disposed of over 6,200 tons of debris at County drop-off sites.

With Hurricane Milton approaching, debris contractors have strategically staged equipment at secure locations throughout the county, ready to resume curbside collection as soon as conditions are safe.
