Florida highways are experiencing heavy northbound and eastbound traffic as residents evacuate in advance of Hurricane Milton. Emergency Shoulder Use (ESU) has been activated on I-75 and I-4 to help ease congestion. If you plan to evacuate, the time to leave is now.
Important Travel Information:
- ESU is in effect for the inside (left) shoulder ONLY on northbound I-75 and eastbound I-4.
- FHP Troopers are escorting fuel tankers to ensure gas availability and debris removal.
- Bay Area bridges will close if sustained wind speeds reach 45 mph or if conditions become unsafe.
- Be prepared for potential closures of all major bridges.
