TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – The City of Temple Terrace has declared a local state of emergency in advance of Hurricane Milton. The declaration, effective Tuesday at 6 a.m., grants the city authority to expedite emergency procedures and operations.
Closures and Service Changes:
- City Hall, the Family Recreation Complex, Omar K. Lightfoot Center, and the Library will close at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
- Utility billing offices will close today at 3 p.m.
- Sanitation services, including residential solid waste and recycling pickup, will be suspended for the remainder of the week after Tuesday.

The city’s Emergency Operations Center will be activated between Tuesday and Wednesday to coordinate storm response efforts. Police and Fire departments will remain operational, but responses will be prioritized based on the severity of the situation and personnel availability.
Residents are urged to remain indoors during the storm. First responders may not be able to reach those in need if conditions become too dangerous.
