Akilees Kadeem Hobson, 26, of Edwardsville, and Armand Kierran Hobson, 27, of Plymouth, were indicted on Tuesday by a federal grand jury on drug trafficking charges.
According to United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam, the indictment alleges that Akilees Hobson distributed cocaine and fentanyl over a dozen times in Luzerne County during August and September 2024. Armand Hobson is accused of assisting his brother with the distribution of fentanyl on September 12th, 2024.

Furthermore, both brothers allegedly possessed drugs with intent to distribute on September 25th, 2024 – Akilees with fentanyl and cocaine, and Armand with fentanyl and marijuana.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Luzerne County Drug Task Force investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jenny P. Roberts is prosecuting.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program that brings together law enforcement and communities to reduce violent crime. PSN focuses on fostering trust within communities, supporting violence prevention organizations, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring results.

The maximum penalty under federal law for these offenses is 30 years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release, and a fine. Sentencing will be determined by a judge based on federal sentencing statutes and guidelines.
