A tense standoff in Mossy Head, Florida, ended Tuesday morning with the arrest of a man wanted on multiple felony charges.
Michael Stephen Boone, 38, had barricaded himself inside a camper on Seven Oaks Road in Walton County. The U.S. Marshals Service Regional Task Force, including officers from the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, attempted to negotiate with Boone, who was wanted by the Niceville Police Department for aggravated stalking, making bomb threats, and threatening law enforcement officers.

When Boone refused to exit the camper, officers deployed pepper spray, but he continued to resist, making death threats. A fire then broke out inside the camper, believed to have been started by Boone. He attempted to escape as the fire intensified but was quickly apprehended.
Walton County Fire Rescue extinguished the fire, and Boone was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. During his subsequent transport to Walton County Jail, he reportedly spit on a deputy and made further threats against the officer and his family.
