PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputy, Dakota Dellechiaie, 32, was seriously injured in a collision with a propane tanker truck early this morning in Pasco County. The deputy was on his way to work when his agency-issued Chevrolet Tahoe collided with the truck as it was backing into a driveway on Hudson Avenue. The Tahoe went under the trailer portion of the truck.
Pasco Fire Rescue extricated Deputy Dellechiaie from the vehicle and transported him to Bayonet Point Hospital Trauma Center with severe head injuries. He is currently in stable condition. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Deputy Dellechiaie, who was hired in 2019, is assigned to the Patrol Operations Bureau. He and his wife have four children.
The Sheriff’s Office asks that the family’s privacy be respected during this time. Updates on his condition will be released as they become available.
