St. Petersburg Traffic Alert: Central Ave To Have Periodic Closures For Art House Construction

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg residents and visitors should be aware of upcoming periodic closures on Central Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Streets. These closures, which will begin on Monday, September 30th, are necessary for construction work on the Art House project at 275 1st Ave. S.

The closures will primarily occur during overnight hours, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Thursday, and are expected to last for approximately 8 weeks. Both the road and sidewalks on this section of Central Avenue will be affected.

In addition to the Central Avenue closures, there will be intermittent lane closures on 1st Avenue South and 3rd Street North. These closures are not expected to impact sidewalks, parking, or the bike lane on 1st Avenue South, or the sidewalks or parking on 3rd Street North.

Please note that Central Avenue will need to be fully closed for two nights during this period, although the north sidewalk will remain open.

Efforts have been made to minimize disruptions, especially for local businesses and during peak weekend hours. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to plan their routes accordingly and allow for extra travel time in the area.
