Fatal Head-On Collision In Brooksville Claims Life Of Weeki Wachee Woman

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A tragic head-on collision occurred on Citrus Way in Brooksville on Tuesday at 4:57 pm, resulting in one fatality and multiple serious injuries.

An 18-year-old Orlando man driving a Hyundai Elantra northbound on Citrus Way lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the southbound lane, colliding nearly head-on with a Hyundai Accent driven by a 17-year-old male from Weeki Wachee.

A 47-year-old Weeki Wachee woman, a passenger in the Hyundai Accent, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital where she later passed away.

A 15-year-old male passenger in the northbound vehicle also suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized. Both drivers were seriously injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
