POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Lakeland man is facing multiple charges after a brief but dramatic high-speed chase in Lakeland on Friday evening, September 20th.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Jason Leon Crews was spotted riding a motorcycle without a tag on Memorial Boulevard. The motorcycle matched the description of one that had fled from another deputy two days earlier.

When a deputy attempted to stop Crews, he sped off, weaving through traffic, running a red light, and crashing within seconds. Crews then abandoned his crashed motorcycle and his injured female passenger, attempting to flee on foot. He was quickly apprehended.
Crews later admitted he fled because his license was suspended, though he was mistaken about having an outstanding warrant.
