A mass shooting in Birmingham, Alabama’s popular Five Points South entertainment district has left four people dead and 18 others wounded. The incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday night, turning a bustling scene into a chaotic tragedy.

Upon arrival, police found two men and a woman deceased on the sidewalk, while another male victim later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

A preliminary investigation suggests multiple suspects opened fire on a large group gathered in a public area. Authorities believe the shooting was not random but stemmed from an isolated incident where many were caught in the crossfire.

As of early Sunday, police had identified 18 additional victims with injuries ranging in severity. No arrests have been made, and the intended targets remain unclear. Police are appealing to the public for any information that could aid the investigation.
