PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County Fire Rescue Chief Anthony “Tony” Perez has stepped down from his position just over a year after taking the helm. The department confirmed the news on Thursday, but did not elaborate on the reasons behind Perez’s resignation.

Assistant Chief Ryan Guynn will serve as interim fire chief during the transition period. Perez had a long career in fire service, spanning 26 years with both Pasco Fire Rescue and Tampa Fire Rescue.

He held various positions, including firefighter, paramedic, captain, and chief of operations, before becoming fire chief in August 2023.
