Deputies responded to a call at the Davis Village shopping plaza around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, where they found Bigotes panting heavily inside the vehicle with the engine off and windows slightly cracked. The temperature inside the truck was a scorching 110 degrees.
Obregon claimed she was only gone for 30 minutes, but a concerned citizen reported seeing the distressed puppy inside the truck as early as 12:54 p.m. The CCSO investigation confirmed Bigotes was left alone for at least an hour and 15 minutes.

“It is never OK to leave a pet inside a hot vehicle,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “Leaving pets inside a hot vehicle even for a few minutes can be deadly. We thank the concerned citizen who saw the puppy in distress inside the hot truck and reported it to law enforcement.”
Obregon was located and arrested on Tuesday.
