Luis Padilla, 39, formerly of Waterbury, Connecticut, was sentenced to over a year in prison for escaping from a halfway house in Bloomfield. Padilla had been serving a 78-month sentence for drug trafficking when he walked out of the Drapelick Center on June 1, 2022, and disappeared.
He was eventually found and arrested in Maine in April 2024. Padilla pleaded guilty to escape from custody in June 2024.

On Friday U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer sentenced him to 12 months and one day of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release.
