Spring Hill Teen Arrested For Possessing, Sharing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)

SPRING HILL, Fla. – A Spring Hill teenager has been arrested for possession and distribution of child pornography.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received a tip on September 3rd, 2024, that a 14-year-old had child sexual abuse material (CSAM). After obtaining a search warrant, deputies searched the teen’s residence on September 11th.

The teen, who had only recently moved to Hernando County, admitted to owning a social media account where he shared at least one file containing child pornography. A quick search of his devices also uncovered another CSAM file.

The teen was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.  

Despite the charges, the Department of Juvenile Justice instructed the teen be released to his guardian.
