LAKELAND, Fla. – A fatal shooting in Lakeland on Tuesday morning claimed the life of 32-year-old Alfredo “Freddie” Alfaro-Astello, and a suspect has been charged.
The suspected shooter, 38-year-old Clinton “CJ” Robinson, Jr., has been apprehended and faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder.

Polk County deputies arrived at the scene Tuesday at about 10:07 am following the report of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they found Mr. Alfaro-Astello deceased in the front yard.
Witnesses reported seeing Robinson approach the victim before hearing gunshots and observing smoke from a firearm in his hand. Robinson allegedly said, “How do you like me now?” as he left the scene.
The victim and suspect were neighbors with a history of disputes.
“Detectives are still trying to determine what specifically led this morning’s deadly interaction, and believe there may be more witnesses,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd on Tuesday.

Robinson is currently held in the Polk County Jail without bond on the murder and evidence tampering charges, with additional bonds set for drug-related offenses.
