LAKELAND, Fla. – A fatal shooting occurred in Lakeland on Tuesday morning, September 10, 2024, resulting in the death of 32-year-old Alfredo “Freddie” Alfaro-Astello.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to the scene on Fleming Avenue around 10:07 am and apprehended the suspected shooter, 38-year-old Clinton “CJ” Robinson, Jr.

Witnesses reported seeing Robinson approach the victim, hearing gunshots, and observing smoke from a firearm in Robinson’s hand. He was allegedly heard saying, “How do you like me now?” as he left the scene.
The victim and suspect were neighbors, and previous disputes between them had been reported. The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Robinson is currently being interviewed at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and is expected to be charged with murder.
