HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Certain Hillsborough County residents will experience a temporary change in their water disinfection process due to a maintenance project by the Tampa Water Department.
From September 16 to October 7, the Tampa Water Department will switch from chloramine to chlorine disinfection. This change will impact Hillsborough County water customers residing in the following neighborhoods: East Lake, Fairview, Herschel Heights, Pebble Creek, and Seaboard.

The system is expected to revert to chloramine disinfection by October 8.
During this period, residents in the affected areas might notice a slight change in the taste and odor of their drinking water.
Individuals who use dialysis machines or own aquarium fish are advised to seek professional guidance to ensure their current pretreatment methods for removing chloramines are compatible with the temporary change in water disinfection.
