LAKELAND, Fla. – It was a wild Wednesday evening in Lakeland when Deputy Goolsby and his eager trainee, Deputy Gonzalez-Gomez, responded to a call about an unexpected guest lurking under a family’s car. Turns out, it wasn’t a runaway cat or a lost dog, but a young alligator seeking some shade in the driveway.

With a bit of wrangling and perhaps a few nervous gulps, the deputies managed to apprehend the scaly suspect. Deputy Goolsby proudly reported this as his trainee’s first official “alligator arrest,” a rite of passage for any Florida law enforcement officer.

The relieved family was all smiles, while the gator was… well, let’s just say he wasn’t thrilled about the impromptu relocation.

No harm was done, though; the little guy was unharmed and released back into the welcoming waters of Lake Gibson – the actual lake.
