HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County Public Works crews worked tirelessly through the night to combat flooding caused by an unprecedented rainfall event in Town ‘N Country. The area received a staggering 3.89 inches of rain in less than an hour on Wednesday night, on top of 3.4 inches the previous night.

This deluge overwhelmed local canals, prompting pump operators to work overnight to prevent a major flooding disaster. County stormwater teams diligently monitored 15 stormwater pumps to ensure the streets were clear by Thursday morning.
