Ryan Meyung, a traveling motocross instructor who built tracks and mentored children, has been sentenced in Atlanta to 40 years in prison for multiple child exploitation offenses. Meyung, 33, exploited his position of trust to sexually abuse minors and produce child pornography, according to U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan.
“Meyung is a predator who sexually abused numerous children while working as a motocross coach,” Buchanan stated. “Our office is committed to working with law enforcement partners across state lines to ensure justice for these heinous crimes.”

Homeland Security Investigations Nashville Special Agent in Charge Rana Saoud added, “This coach violated the trust and responsibility he had to protect and mentor the children in his care. HSI, along with local law enforcement, is dedicated to investigating and removing individuals who harm children.”
Between July 2019 and December 2021, Meyung coerced six minors, aged 6 to 13, into participating in sexually explicit acts to produce images and videos of child sexual abuse. He also possessed and transported child pornography created by other offenders, while recording further sexual abuse involving other children.

Meyung, of no fixed address, was convicted of six counts of producing child pornography after pleading guilty on April 26, 2024. In addition to his prison sentence, he was ordered to pay $193,500 in restitution and will remain under supervised release for life.
The case was jointly investigated by Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) offices in Chattanooga and Dalton, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Chattanooga Police Department, with assistance from HSI field offices nationwide.
