Largo Police Seek Public’s Help In Fatal Hit-And-Run; Pedestrian Struck By Two Vehicles

LARGO, Fla. – A pedestrian was fatally struck Wednesday in a hit-and-run accident and the Largo Police Department is now appealing to the public for any information that could help identify the driver who fled the scene.

According to police, around 9:06 PM, a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Roosevelt Boulevard, just east of US Highway 19.

The initial incident involved an unknown vehicle striking the pedestrian as they crossed the road. The driver fled the scene, leaving the victim in the roadway. Shortly after, a second vehicle, a 2007 tan Toyota Highlander, also struck the pedestrian. The driver of the Toyota remained on scene and showed no signs of impairment.

The road was closed for several hours as the Traffic Homicide Unit investigated.

Information about the first vehicle that hit the pedestrian is limited. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any relevant information is urged to contact the Largo Police Department at 727-587-6730.
