HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Over the Labor Day weekend, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) conducted 297 stops on roads and waterways as part of “Operation Summer’s End,” a joint enforcement initiative aimed at preventing impaired driving and ensuring a safe holiday for all.
The operation, conducted in collaboration with the Tampa Police Department, USF Police, and the Florida Highway Patrol, focused on cracking down on DUI (Driving Under the Influence) and BUI (Boating Under the Influence) offenses.
“Our deputies’ dedication this weekend made a significant impact by keeping our community safe,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Every arrest of an impaired driver or boater helps save lives. Operating any vehicle, whether on land or water, while under the influence is dangerous and will not be tolerated.”
