Trio’s California-To-Florida 77-Pound Meth Run Ends With Lengthy Prison Sentences

A federal judge in Florida handed out sentences last Wednesday to three individuals who thought they could turn a quick profit in the methamphetamine trade.

Jevonn Clayton, the apparent mastermind behind the operation, will be enjoying the Florida sunshine for a whopping 13 years and 2 months.

His travel companions, Richardson Sid and Venus Lott, received slightly less generous accommodations: 6 years, 6 months, and 5 years, respectively.

It seems their grand plan involved stuffing suitcases full of meth in Los Angeles and hoping for a smooth flight to Orlando.

Unfortunately for them, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation decided to crash their party at the Orlando airport.

The trio’s five suitcases, packed with over 35 kilograms (77 pounds) of meth, turned out to be their one-way ticket to the federal prison.
