Kentucky Man Receives 15-Year Sentence For Drug Trafficking And Firearms Offenses

A Louisville man, Charles Jermaine Gore, 40, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl, and for illegal possession of firearms.

U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett highlighted the successful collaboration between the ATF, LMPD, and KSP, stating that this case demonstrates the commitment of law enforcement to apprehend and prosecute individuals involved in drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession.

ATF Special Agent in Charge R. Shawn Morrow emphasized the detrimental impact of drug dealers with guns on communities and praised the 15-year sentence as a strong deterrent.

Court documents reveal that Gore was involved in the possession and distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine between July 2021 and February 2022. He also illegally possessed several firearms during this period. Gore’s prior felony convictions prohibited him from owning firearms.

This case was investigated by the ATF and LMPD, with assistance from the Kentucky State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank Dahl prosecuted the case, which is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence.
