A 20-year-old murder suspect, Deario Wilkerson, was apprehended in Memphis after dramatically falling through a ceiling while trying to evade authorities. Wilkerson, wanted for the fatal shooting of Troy Cunningham in April, was tracked down to a residence by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force.
As law enforcement surrounded the house, Wilkerson attempted to hide in the attic but fell through the ceiling. He was uninjured and taken into custody without further incident.

This arrest comes after the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office previously identified Wilkerson as one of three suspects in Cunningham’s murder.
The victim was fatally shot in the back of the head while attempting to flee from the suspects. During the incident, two women in a nearby vehicle were also caught in the gunfire, with one sustaining a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
