The Florida Lottery announced today that Josephine Galarza, a 36-year-old resident of Panama City, has claimed a $1 million prize from the “$1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR” Scratch-Off game. Galarza opted for a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.
Galarza purchased the winning ticket at Speedway Food Mart, located at 3000 West Highway 98 in Panama City. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission as a reward for selling the winning ticket.

The $50 Scratch-Off game, “$1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR,” offers two top prizes of $1 million annually for life and 234 prizes of $1 million. The game has over $1.6 billion in cash prizes and overall odds of 1-in-4.50.

Scratch-off games significantly affect the Lottery’s revenue, accounting for approximately 72 percent of ticket sales in the 2022-2023 fiscal year. Since their inception, these games have awarded over $61.9 billion in prizes, created 2,103 millionaires, and contributed over $18.95 billion to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
