BRADENTON, Fla. – The Cleveland Cavaliers announced that their 2024 Training Camp will take place at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, from October 1-6, marking the official start of preparations for the 2024-25 NBA season.
“This year, Sarasota and IMG Academy provide the perfect setting for our training camp,” said Koby Altman, Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations. “The world-class facilities and change of environment offer a unique opportunity for our team to build chemistry and culture. We are grateful for the warm hospitality from IMG Academy and the surrounding communities, which will play a key role in preparing us for the upcoming season.”

The Cavaliers will become the first NBA team to hold their training camp at IMG Academy, a leading sports education institution with a 600-acre campus renowned for its top-tier facilities, including multiple basketball courts and advanced strength and conditioning resources. This will be the Cavaliers’ first remote training camp since 2004, when they trained at Capital University in Columbus, OH.

Beyond utilizing IMG Academy’s facilities, the Cavaliers will have the chance to engage with the local Bradenton and Sarasota communities. The area is known for its rich history, vibrant cultural arts scene, and outdoor activities.

“When we heard the Cavaliers chose IMG Academy, it only reinforced the impact IMG has on our community,” said Elliott Falcione, Executive Director of the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We look forward to the Cavs players, coaches, and staff enjoying the laid-back nature of Bradenton as they prepare for a new season.”
Sarasota Mayor Liz Alpert expressed excitement about welcoming the team. “We’re planning special events for the players to interact with our community, particularly with our youth and aspiring athletes. We want the Cavs to experience everything Sarasota has to offer, from our vibrant downtown to our beaches and cultural scene.”

The Cavaliers will hold Media Day in Cleveland on September 30 before departing for Florida. Training camp details, including the daily schedule and media availability, will be announced closer to the start date.
