PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Opa-Locka resident Gee Seymour, 31, has pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and possessing a stolen firearm. These federal offenses carry a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison each.
Court documents reveal that on December 13, 2023, Seymour stole a Ruger LC9 9mm pistol from a Clearwater pawn shop.

The following day, the store owner reported the theft to authorities.
Shortly after midnight, St. Petersburg police stopped Seymour’s vehicle for a traffic violation and discovered the stolen firearm during a search. Seymour later admitted to the theft and his status as a convicted felon, which prohibits him from possessing firearms under federal law.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through community-law enforcement partnerships.

The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Clearwater Police Department, and the St. Petersburg Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David W.A. Chee.
