In a significant drug bust on Wednesday, detectives arrested a man and a woman and seized a massive quantity of fentanyl from a suspected drug house located directly across from a neighborhood park in Collier County.
“Our message is clear,” said Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “If you’re going to peddle poison in this community and threaten the safety of children, our detectives are coming to get you and you will be held accountable.”
Maikel Raul Felipe Bernal, 42, and Yusbelkin Clemente-Vega, 39, were arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl over 28 grams. Bernal faces an additional charge of methamphetamine possession.
During a search of the residence, detectives discovered 318 fentanyl pills, disguised as prescription oxycodone, inside an efficiency occupied by the suspects. The seized fentanyl, weighing 34.1 grams, had the potential to kill an estimated 17,050 people.

In addition to the fentanyl, detectives recovered methamphetamine and a substantial amount of cash, totaling over $19,000. The way the money was organized further indicated involvement in drug sales.
The bust highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the fentanyl crisis and protect communities, especially children, from the dangers of illicit drugs.
