BRANDON, Fla. – Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit successfully located a 76-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s Wednesday who had wandered away from her home on Viola Drive in Brandon.

The woman was found walking barefoot on a nearby roadway and was safely returned home unharmed.

“This incident highlights the incredible work of our K9 Section and the dedication of our entire team,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Their tracking skills were crucial in locating this missing woman quickly, and we’re relieved to see her return home safely.”

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Tackles House Fire In Riverview

A house fire broke out in Riverview, Florida, on Wednesday morning, prompting a swift response from Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR). Firefighters arrived at the scene on Boyette Road at 11:53 AM after receiving 911 calls from concerned passersby.

Upon arrival, the single-story home was already engulfed in flames, with approximately 75% of the structure ablaze.

Fire crews immediately launched an attack, bringing the fire under control within 15 minutes.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported to civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
