U.S. Senators Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine (both D-VA) announced the inclusion of significant Virginia priorities in the Senate’s Fiscal Year 2025 draft funding bills.
As of now, 11 out of 12 appropriations bills have passed the Senate Appropriations Committee with bipartisan support, with ongoing negotiations for the final bill focused on homeland security funding.
“We are pleased to see the Senate moving forward on legislation that secures vital funding to support our servicemembers, military families, public safety, infrastructure, affordable housing, and more,” the senators stated. They highlighted the inclusion of $125 million earmarked for community-based projects across Virginia aimed at boosting the local economy and benefiting residents statewide.
