The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) needs your help! We’re asking everyone to report any wild turkey sightings they have between now and August 31st. This includes hens (with or without their young) and bearded turkeys.
Why is this important?
- Your observations help the FWC determine how successful wild turkey nesting is, how many young turkeys survive, and where turkeys are living across the state.
- This information is critical for the FWC to manage and ensure healthy wild turkey populations for future generations.
- Florida is part of a larger multi-state effort to better understand wild turkey reproduction and population numbers.

We’re almost there!
- The goal is to collect 5,000 wild turkey observations by the end of August and they are currently about 80% of the way there.
How to Report:
- Please report your wild turkey sightings to the FWC.
- Detailed instructions on how to report can be found on the FWC website.
Let’s work together to conserve Florida’s wild turkey populations!
