A former United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer was found guilty Friday of abusing his position to funnel hundreds of government contracts to his wife’s vehicle repair business.
Jacques Polzin, 40, of Norwalk, was convicted on eight counts of conflict of interest after a four-day trial. Evidence presented in court revealed that Polzin, while working as a vehicle control officer at ICE, directed service and parts orders for ICE vehicles to JNJ Auto Repair LLC, a company owned by his wife.

Polzin’s involvement with JNJ Auto was extensive. He helped establish the business, invested in it, shared competitor estimates to ensure JNJ Auto won contracts, and even received payments from the company. These actions were all taken while actively concealing his connection to JNJ Auto.
Throughout his scheme, Polzin facilitated more than 250 transactions between ICE and JNJ Auto.
Polzin is scheduled to be sentenced on March 10, 2025, and faces a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison for each count of conflict of interest.

The ICE Office of Professional Responsibility investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys K. Afia Bondero and Nisha Chandran.
