HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – With Tropical Storm Debby expected to bring extreme rainfall to the area, the National Weather Service has issued both flood watches and warnings for five locations in Hillsborough County.

Flood Watch Areas:

  • Hillsborough River near Morris Bridge Road
  • Hillsborough River near Zephyrhills
  • Alafia River near Lithia Pinecrest Road

Flood Warning Areas:

  • Alafia River near U.S. 301
  • Little Manatee River near Wimauma

A flood watch indicates conditions are favorable for flooding, while a flood warning means flooding is imminent or already occurring. Residents are urged to be aware of their flood risk and take precautions, as flooding can happen quickly and unexpectedly anywhere in the county.

  • Monitor river and stream levels.
