TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Police Department has announced the closure of Bayshore Boulevard between Platt Street and Bay to Bay Boulevard due to flooding caused by Tropical Storm Debby.

Several side streets in the area are also closed. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and refrain from driving through standing water.

The storm is expected to bring heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours, increasing the risk of flooding in low-lying areas and near bodies of water.

Drivers are advised to exercise extreme caution on Monday morning and avoid driving through flooded roads. In any life-threatening emergency, residents should call 911 immediately.

For non-emergency situations, the Tampa Police Department’s non-emergency line is (813) 231-6130. Flooding can be reported to the Stormwater Customer Service Line at (813) 274-3101.
