The harmful algae bloom known as red tide (Karenia brevis) was not found in any water samples collected across Florida this past week. Satellite imagery continues to be used to monitor nearshore and offshore conditions.
No fish kills or respiratory irritation suspected to be linked to red tide were reported over the past week. Forecasts predict a net northwestern movement of surface waters and variable transport of subsurface waters in most areas over the next few days.
