POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Tiffany West, 36, of Orlando, already facing a vehicular homicide charge for a fatal Davenport crash on July 19th, now faces an additional DUI manslaughter charge.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced the new charge following the release of lab results confirming West’s blood alcohol content was 0.295g/mL, over three times the legal limit.

West has been in custody since July 24th for causing the crash that resulted in the death of her friend, 39-year-old Alicia Carmona, and injured Carmona’s two children.

Sheriff Grady Judd attributed Carmona’s death and the injuries sustained by her children to West’s “poor choices” to both speed and drink before driving.

“Tiffany West was already facing the vehicular homicide charge due to the poor decision to drive over 70mph in a 30mph zone. This new charge is for her poor decision to drink and drive. Alicia Carmona lost her life because of Tiffany’s poor choices, and the two children who were also in the car that night were also injured and lost their mother,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
