Lakeland Man Arrested After Violent Road Rage Incident At Tree Removal Site: Polk County Sheriff

LAKELAND, Fla. – A routine tree removal job in Lakeland turned violent on Friday, July 26th, when a man, identified as 42-year-old Jose Koenig, arrived at the scene and initiated a confrontation. Koenig made threats, used racial slurs, and physically attacked one of the workers.

The situation escalated further when Koenig drove his Honda Civic towards the victim, hitting another man who had pushed the initial victim out of the way.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived promptly and apprehended Koenig as he attempted to flee the scene.

Koenig now faces multiple charges, including attempted felony murder, felony battery, and leaving the scene of a crash involving injury.

The two victims received medical attention from Polk County Fire Rescue.
