Three men from South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado were sentenced in federal court for their involvement in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The sentences were handed down by U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier.
Chris Janis, also known as “Izzy” Janis, 50, from Manderson, South Dakota, received a six-year federal prison sentence followed by three years of supervised release.
Richard Glover, 43, from Denver, Colorado, was sentenced to 17 years and six months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release. Sentencing for the third man, Dustin Fiala of Gillette, Wyoming, is pending.

The convictions stem from a large-scale methamphetamine distribution operation that spanned multiple states, including South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado. The investigation revealed that the men conspired to distribute significant quantities of methamphetamine in Rapid City and on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
U.S. Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced the sentences, highlighting the collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies that led to the successful prosecution of the case.

The case was investigated by the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team (UNET), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. UNET comprises law enforcement from the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Rapid City Police Department, South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, South Dakota National Guard, and the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
The investigation and prosecution of this case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program that brings together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and make neighborhoods safer.
