A United Airlines flight traveling from Houston to Boston was forced to make an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport on Sunday after a passenger caused a “biohazard” situation onboard.
According to reports and audio recordings from the flight, the passenger experienced a severe medical issue that resulted in the spread of bodily fluids throughout the cabin.
Passengers reported that the crew began vomiting, and passengers requested masks due to the smell and potential health risks.

A doctor onboard communicated with air traffic control, urging an immediate landing due to the biohazard situation. The pilot confirmed that the situation was “quite bad” and required immediate attention.
Upon landing at Dulles, the aircraft was met by emergency medical services and the affected passenger was taken for medical treatment. The remaining passengers were transferred to another flight to continue their journey to Boston.

United Airlines has not released specific details about the passenger’s medical condition, citing privacy concerns. However, they have confirmed that the flight was diverted due to an “urgent customer situation.”
