LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – Kenlin Anthony Bougouneau, 53, was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years in prison for assaulting Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies during an October 2020 incident.
A jury convicted Bougouneau on two counts of Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and one count of Resisting a Law Enforcement Officer with Violence.
The charges stemmed from an incident where deputies responded to a disturbance call in Clermont and found Bougouneau aggressively attacking multiple victims.

After being placed in a patrol car, Bougouneau became violent and began kicking the officers. He was ultimately subdued and arrested.
“Law enforcement officers face every situation imaginable,” said Bill Gladson, Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney. “They respond to calls for service, not knowing all the details and having to make split-second decisions. In this case, they had to subdue an individual who was out of control and posed a danger to others.”
Assistant State Attorneys Chelsey Omega and Edward Moffitt led the successful prosecution.
