A political committee leading efforts to pass a constitutional amendment for recreational marijuana use in Florida raised $313,566 from July 6 through July 12, and now holds approximately $12.6 million in cash, according to a newly filed finance report.
The Smart & Safe Florida committee, established in 2022, has amassed nearly $61.5 million in total contributions, as shown in the report posted on the state Division of Elections website.

The latest funding includes a significant contribution of $250,000 from Verano Holdings, a cannabis company operating under the name MÜV in Florida. Additionally, the committee received $50,000 from Dutchie, a company that provides technology solutions for the cannabis industry.
The proposed constitutional amendment, appearing as Amendment 3 on the November ballot, would allow adults 21 years or older to possess, purchase, or use marijuana products and accessories for non-medical personal consumption through smoking, ingestion, or other means. This follows the 2016 constitutional amendment that permitted medical marijuana use in the state.
