SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – Antoine Lamar Whitter, 42, pleaded guilty Friday to charges of Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession of Cocaine in the courtroom of Judge Mary P. Hatcher.
The guilty plea comes after a traffic stop in October 2019 led to the discovery of a substantial quantity of drugs, paraphernalia, and cash in Whitter’s possession.
“This case is just another example of our law enforcement partners’ keen observation and swift actions,” said Bill Gladson, Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney. “Thanks to their heightened awareness, we were able to prosecute another drug trafficker to keep them off our streets and clean up our community.”

During an early morning traffic stop, a K-9 unit alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, prompting a search that uncovered significant amounts of methamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis, a scale, and packaging materials.
Additionally, Whitter was found with $2,670 in cash, further suggesting involvement in drug trafficking.
Whitter’s sentencing is scheduled for August 20, 2024, at 1 p.m. Assistant State Attorneys Stephen Fern and Elizabeth Hart prosecuted the case.
