Hakeeme Kaleb Williams, a 24-year-old Arizona resident, has been charged with interstate transportation for the purpose of prostitution. A criminal complaint alleges that Williams transported a woman across state lines with the intent of engaging her in prostitution.

The charges stem from a distressing 911 call made on June 17, 2024, by a woman identified as “Jane Doe 1,” who reported being trafficked by Williams, whom she met online and referred to as her “pimp.”

She revealed that she had been working as a sex worker, handing over all her earnings to Williams. He had transported her across state lines for prostitution purposes and frequently subjected her to assault.

At the time of the 911 call, Williams was transporting Jane Doe 1 through New Mexico to Arizona, with stops in New Mexico specifically for engaging in prostitution. Online advertisements featuring the two were discovered, seemingly promoting sex work in Albuquerque.

Following his appearance before a federal judge, Williams was released on conditions pending trial, the date of which is yet to be determined. If convicted, Williams faces up to 10 years in prison.

This case highlights the serious issue of human trafficking and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals. The charges against Williams serve as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat these crimes and bring perpetrators to justice.
